Strengthening of legal support to the Tajik mass media and journalists

Цели проекта:

This project is a continuation of the Project “Support to Independent Tajikistan’s Media”. The main goal of the project is the provision of legal support to independent printing media ensuring: • rights of individuals in Tajikistan on access to information by means of providing them with objective, comprehensive and timely information: • development of professional skills among media specialists; • protection of rights and interests of independent journalists.

Результаты проекта:

Three Support Centers for Journalists are functioning within the project framework in Dushanbe, Khujand and Kurgan-Tube. Monthly information bulletin is published online. The bulletin has 350 subscribers. It contains legal materials, case studies and results of monitoring on freedoms and rights of media professionals along with comments by legal experts. Within the framework of this Project we designed a new NANSMIT’s web site - www.nansmit.tj where we launch texts of laws, bylaws, decrees adopted by the government and parliaments, and other legal provisions regulating media activities in the country. The web site also contains all issues of the bulletin. The main goal of NANSMIT’s web site is the provision of access to media professionals to virtual legal services.
